Common rail engine Question

The Diesel Inlet Line and the Proper Sizing-FREE Technical Article

Hello, All:

I'm a new member and have caught the Turbo Diesel bug. I'm looking to put a 4BT in my '91 grand wagoneer... Actually, I'm looking to find a great shop in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to do the conversion for me. Any ideas? How much will something like this cost if I supply the hardware (donor vehicle - which I don't have yet... still looking).

Any friendly insight would be welcome.

Thanks All (Enjoy your Christmas)

Rick

I would read up over at www.4btswaps.com you may find one that for sal and already done. rememebr this conversions take a lot of time to get right and finish. Figure on tripling your initial estimate of time and $. . and look at what shop labor will be Probably $75-125 Hr... think of how many hows they wil have into it and the cost plus the parts etc... not trying to discourage you buy it addes up. . i've gotten in well over my pocketbook and several occasions and either you suck it up or stop the project till funds get sourced... either are no fun.

r u if you get going let me know i might just have to help you out a little (may a little drive time for a reward!!) i am here in fort worth

Andres' conversion is one of the best ever. John, I bet Rick would like to see the video of your H1 climbing the wall. I know I would again!!!

Thank you all for your input!!!! I just acquired my 4BT-A and am about to start the process of swapping the 360 out.

You may find this shocking, but I have hired a shop to do the 4BT/360 swap and fabrication work... the part you will find interesting is what we are going to do afterwards. I have decided to financially back this shop to start doing FSJ diesel swaps. Just purchased several Wagoneers for them to practice on... starting to get pretty excited.

I'll keep everyone posted on the progress.

Thanks,

Rick
