I'm new to the registry, but not to the Cummins. I have a 2001 5.9l that is all stock at the moment with 253k miles. The problem I am having is that every now and then when I am leaving from a stop sign turning right, the engine stutters for a full second or little more. Once I straighten out the truck runs great. Also sometimes when I shift into third and bring it slowly to about 2100 rpm it stutters again. I think its a air bubble in the fuel line between the vp44 and the injectors. don't know how it happened since the vp44 was changed 3 years ago with no issue since. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What trans? If you getting air you need to check fuel lines after filter. But than again if had an air leak you have problems all the time.
Could be dirt in fuel filter. When was the last time you changed it.
Or you could have got a large piece of dirt in the filter. I have had this happen a couple of times. Made it stutter once the 2nd time I had to feather the pedal because it felt like the engine going to die. The third time it felt like that I pressed the go pedal down which solved the problem until I was able to change filter. (The 1rst and 2nd time I changed the filter also).
I switched gas stations. ( one out of england but drill for in the USA). My engine was getting noisier also. Switching brands and stations took care of that also.

5 speed. I change my filter every time I change my oil. Last time I changed it was about 3 months ago. But maybe there might be something in the housing. I'll have to check it out.
