Anyone have any ideas in how I can reduce the boost on my PDR Hx-40 with 16cm housing? With the wastegate fully opened I can exceed 45-50 lbs of boost without putting my foot to the floor. I recently looked into PDR's external wastegate which sounded like it would solve the problem but it will not work with the PDR twin set-up if (when) I go that direction. Something about dumping boost to the atmosphere and clearance issues. Does anyone make a housing with a larger wastegate opening? Any advice would be appreciated.

John--where are you exactly--I'm in SF---are you sure the waste gate is working??? where did you tap into for the boost---chris

you can adjust the wastegate by adjusting the rod, like chris says make sure the wastegate is actually opening

external wastegates are loud

Hey Chris & Bob-

I lengthened the wastegate actuator arm about 4 full turn per PDR recommendation. It slowed down the boost if I press down on the pedal slowly but still can hit +45 lbs if I don't pay attention.

I'm getting my boost signal from the pressure port after the intake horn.

thanks for the response. .

My HX-40 was impossible to control the boost on... . same situation as you.

Solution 1: Drill a hole in the dividing wall in the turbine housing.

Solution 2: Turn dow the fuel until you get the desired peak boost.

I'm from Sac, could help you out with this project if you need.

That turbo will not live at that boost level.
