Alright folks I need your collective wisdom. I figure since my truck is of a certain age, the opinions should be plentiful!
My buddy is out of state and I am picking up this trailer up for him. It is a 40' deck and all I am doing is picking it up and will be taking it to his place in the spring, unladen. As I don't have a ball in the bed, I will need to install one. I need something very basic and straightforward. I do not see ever using it again at this point in time. Therefore safe but reasonably priced is high on the priority list.
Additionally, the axles are torsion axles and I was wondering how much compression they TYPICALLY have built in? I do not have a make of the axles as of yet, but they are 10,000lb axles with autoline hubs. Not looking for absolutes on this one, just generalities.
Thanks in advance!
