I'm hoping someone has some experience (or at least some educated opinions!) on a water pump I need. Turns out that in very heavy rain my basement gets water intrusion, primarily via the concrete patio (it's a walk-out). I've attached a photo of the area.
I'd like to get a water pump that I can either leave out there as a permanent mounting, or perhaps a submersible one I can drop out there during major rainstorms, that will mitigate the potential water intrusion. 30 ft. from the picture is a very large detention pond where I would be pumping the water. The change in elevation is minimal... maybe 1 ft (up to the detention pond).
In the pic, you can see where the previous owner attempted to alleviate the problem by installing a larger drain (up close to the doorway), but the last rainstorm indicated that wasn't enough.
Perhaps if I could get something with a pickup that sits inside that drain and pumps the water out to the pond? I very much appreciate any opinions!
