light12pdr I forgot to ask what state you are in. Here in PA, there is not official diesel emissions testing. However, the emission control system has to be intact and pass "visual inspection" when the vehicle goes in for it's annual inspection.
One of my close friends owns a garage/inspection station here and is a stickler about going over a diesel when it comes in. He gets out the book from PA and goes through the required checklist. I've been there working with him when a customer comes in with a deleted truck and he will not pass it. The owners get really upset with him, but he just isn't going to risk losing his inspection license or a fine for a $25 inspection. I know that other garages around the area are now doing the same. The days of being able to slip a deleted truck through here are definitely coming to an end. I know that there are places that still will pass one through, but those are now few and far between.
