Where to get smoked clearance light covers?

I just got my 04. 5 about a month ago and want to put some gauges in it. I'll only be towing a light load (18' car trailer - 5,500#). I definately want an EGT gauge, but am on the fence about a fuel pressure gauge and trans temp gauge too.

Is a fuel pressure gauge really needed on the 04. 5 and up trucks? Seems like the more I read, guys are talking about the earlier models.

All advice welcome. I'd like to place an order this week.

I just read in the new issue of the TDR that a fuel pressure gauge isn't needed on the 04. 5 and up trucks.

Are other people saying otherwise?

I think this fundamentally assumes the in-tank lift pumps are reliable. I can't recall hearing of one fail, and that's good. I suppose if the truck remains stock there's probably no need for a FP gauge.

I recently installed an Edge Juice with Attitude on my 2nd Gen 24v. By far the biggest bang for the buck I have ever experienced, on any car. And I have had a few.

But you asked about the gauges. It has everything you need and then some. You can display up to four perameters at a time. I monitor boost, transmission temp, fuel pressure and EGT. Plus it has the power adding of a Comp box.

It is certainly more expensive than just a set of gauges but well worth it.

;) With your rig I'd install a Westach Combo EGT/Boost gauge (see Geno's) and a transmission temp gauge. If you want to install another I'd install the FP gauge. Even though the new trucks come with the lift pump in the tank, and the failure rate to date is almost zero (per this site), and the CP3 isn't as prone to failure due to no FP from the pump, it still is comforting to look up and see the FP running at 8-9psi under most loads. It could also let you know if your fuel filter gets plugged up, or you got a bad batch of diesel, before it becomes a bigger problem. JMHO...
