Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) need advice on more power

So I am trying to decide what to get. I tow about 10k once a month and I have a heavy foot. Tha truck has dd2 injectors and a hx 35 turbo. So I was thinking of a smarty or a tst box. any suggestions.

You can probably find a used EDGE EZ for cheap in the classifieds. Super reliable(I'm going on six years) and provides an honest 60rwhp and better fuel economy. It may however require transmission or clutch upgrades depending on your situation.

I had a ufm on it and sold it. want to try a different route

I love my smarty, towing 6k+ I run it on SW3 and the EGT's aren't any higher than without it and there is a definate increase in power. SW 9 is increadible, the response is scary fast. I got used tothe extra power this weekend so I put the stock software back in and man what a DOG... . I wouldn't be able to live without my smarty onw!

Whatever you do to add more fuel, you can expect to need a bigger turbo and some automatic transmission upgrades.

If you want low end grunt... Go Smarty ..... it is definately the best for low end. If you want more on the top for racing... Go for tst.

How much Hp are DD2's?



I put in Mach 1's, they are 65 Hp. I am probably in the 350-400 Hp range and with the injectors, the Smarty and the TST. With the HX35 I could get to 1600F EGT very fast. The Dodgezilla helps, now I can get to only 1400F very fast. With out the cam I think I could add 100F or more to my EGT numbers.



I have not towed yet with the bigger injectors or the DZ, but I am hoping that I can pull the hills respectively by turning the TST off or down very low and running SW5. WOT runs with SW5 and TST0 are hanging in the low 1100 range.



Home for me is about 4000 feet.
