Competition Running Race Fuel and saying your not?

I'm about to go on a long vacation with my 2003 SLT 4WD, 4Dr long bed, with a new set of BFG TA-KO's in 285 width, and of course, load range D.

The kids at the tire shop said they were required to put 5 lbs. more in the rear tires than in the fronts, but of course they couldn't tell me why.

I told them to put 55 up front and 40 in the rear, so they gave me 45 front and 50 rear... .

Any suggestions for a long drive in an unloaded long bed?

I personally wouldn't worry about your 55-F and 40-R as a starting place. The dealer should have given you a load/inflation chart from BFG... but of course they seldom do.

You better check your lug nut torque given the expertise demonstrated there.

I just put my 285's on for the upcoming winter...

I run 55fr/45rr and it seems ok. Maybe a bit too much in the rear, though. I keep spinning the tires...
