I agree on it being fishy sounds like the dealer might have screwed up on

the order of teardown and notifying the right people in the corperation to authorize it. its possible the tech didnt mention the brake also till it was too late.

Here at chevrolet lifted trucks can get a wheel bearing, steering parts and suspension fixed under warrenty because their sold that way on the lot, If the trucks are bieng sold in the same configuration on the lot then pointing that out should help. its just a matter of prooving your case to the right people, like the ol saying "the squeeky wheel gets teh grease. "

also sounds like your headed in the right direction with the lawyer and dmv,

lets just hope they figure out fixing your truck is going to be a lot cheaper than a possible law suit and real bad reputation.

good luck.

Good move - Keep on Holly Dodge. Make sure you document every call, etc... Try to follow up any discussions with a certified letter to the dealership.

Good luck and keep us posted

Bad trucks bad dollarships!

Well I can symphathize with you . For I have NEVER had any satisfaction with the dollarship that I bought this junk from or any of dollarships and cummins as well!!!!!!! They couldn't reconnize the bad steering the leaking 53 or an engine that wasn't and still isn't running right. The more I hear of people having trouble with dollarships the more I AM SURE THAT THEY ARE ALL BAD. So if you are a good dealership please contact me. I didn't pay $42,000 plus for a piece of junk. This latest manifastation of junk is the bounce in the rear end for the engine NOT RUNNING SMOOTHLY. RANT CONTINUNING!!!!!!

well, today we talk to Bob holly the owner of holly dodge and he also said its a dead issue and they are not responsible for fixing the truck and won't meet with us. they also said it would cost $385 just to pick the truck up as is. they are telling me because i authorized it, i have to pay for it. they never even said anything about me paying for it and never gave me an estimate on how much it would even cost. This is a freaking mess. This is such a scam!! well, i not going away just yet. still fighting, i'll keep ya posted.

Did they have you sign a work order? I reacll that you used to have to have a signed order prior to starting the work - It was a DMV requirement. Maybe that's an angle you can look into in getting it back together. You need another truck to park out infront of their lot on the street with a very big sign for all new shoppers to see...

That really stinks. Puts a very bad taste in your mouth. I guess at this point you might just as well pay them their lousy $385. 00 and get your truck back. Then at least you know where it is and what is or isn't being done to it. Then once you have it back you can continue your pursuit of justice. At least you can feel more comfortable fighting the fight not worrying about your truck being screwed with or vandalized while on their lot. It doesn't replace or repair your truck but, at least you know where it is until things get ironed out.

Sorry for your troubles - I'd think of a legale way to make the dealer pay for the repairs and also make their potential customers aware of their "service".

Please do keep us posted.

Maybe we should all send them an e-mail that we are 25,000 members watching to see how this saga ends. Bad publicity is a powerful tool.

Dealerships are like any other business these days, ethics seems to be an ancient concept in many cases. However this most certainly does not make them all bad.

Make sure and contact the Better Business Bureau for your state, also the local Chamber of Commerce. These agencies might not get your problem resolved, but it won't hurt you either. As already stated, a little negative press can often motivate a business owner to do the right thing. Does your local news have a "Hall of Shame" type segment? Additionally, I believe that you can take out an ad in the local newspaper and state pretty much whatever you want, within limits of course.

Hey Firehunter, I'm with GFrance - do you have an email address on them. We could flood their system. Also, like R-N-R said an ad in the local paper might not be a bad idea. You might want to call someone at the paper to see if they could do a story on your situation. Although if Holly Dodge advertises with the paper you're likely to not get any cooperation. I still like the picketing on a busy weekend idea, with a bunch of other Dodge trucks.

bad situation. Im with you guys on the email. The dealership that my dad bought his fords (ya the count is three in 2 years right now) from is extremely good about warranty, took them a while to diagnos but they ended up putting in a new dash and fuse box 4 times in his F-350. Now if I could only talk him into buying a dodge dealership . . . .

Well all I can advise is get a lawyer and stick it to them good.

I had my truck die, tow it to Nashville Dodge (in Tenn) and they told me $2850 - injector pump gone. SO I called my TDR friends and got it to Lebanon Dodge. Lebanon Dodge not only fixed it, the price was $1000 cheaper, but it didnt cost me any, due to being under warrenty.

So Not all dealers are the same. Maybe they think we are stupid or have a forest of money trees.

Get the Better Business Bureau involved for sure and file a complaint. It will have to be looked at them at least there. Get that lawyer and file a lawsuit. That should wake them up. If your going to pay, at least get your moneys worth. I wish you the best and a fast resolve.

I have spoken with a couple of friends who are lawyers and they are telling me to continue with DMV and there aproach i have been taking, also there not many lawyers out there who specialize in this type of problem becuase there is no major money in it for them.

On the plus side, the people from Pac brake have been very helpful, they have been able to contact the warranty manager from cummins and will be getting back to me today. this is a step in the right direction. Pac brake is also concerned that this will give them a bad reputation and people will think their exhuast brakes will screw up your cummins engine. i also mentioned i was member of the TDR and they know about us and what we do here, there is power in numbers. they are also confident their produce didn't do this damage.

I have thought about calling the local news, they have a special report for protecting the consumer. Maybe they will due a story on this. i beleive it has gone past this piont and i am banking on pac brake to come through for me. they have been able to get a little deeping into the corp. world than i have been able to.

i have been playing phone tag with DMV, A local police officer has been able to pull some strings to get my case looked at faster.

We will see what happens next.

Holly Dodge - Your Kind of Dealership?

http://www.holleydodge.net/

After looking at their website they really look like "Your Kind of Dealership". Don't you all agree? How can we, without getting anyone in trouble, communicate that they are really not "Your Kind of Dealership"? to other people. Hopefully there is someone out there a good deal more PC savvy than I that can figure out a way to maybe redirect or draw attention to a site explaining firehunter's problem with Holly Dodge.

Come one now I know someone out there has an idea or two. :-laf

Well how about we all E-Mail them and ask how they could do this to someone. :-laf Or even send them a link to read the great thread on them.

Emailing them is a great idea that has been mentioned earlier, however, after checking their site there isn't an address that we could "flood" with our questions. That's why I'm hoping that someone knows a trick or two PC wise that can redirect someone who is cruising their site so they can see what the real deal is with Holly Dodge.

hey guys, still fighting, DMV seems like they are going to be some help. I just wanted to let you know not to send anything to the dealer, I don't want them get the upperhand by acusing me of slander. thanks for the suggestions. i really want to get this solved with out ******* anyone off. Hope for the best.

i called holly dodge for the other side of the story the service writer said the exhaust was welded by ray charles, he also said that he was taking this personally i dont know what that means but thats what he said. I said that they (holly dodge)should take care of this persons problem they know me there i've bought a truck from them as well as some friends of mine. i've also helped out their tech to fix some problems when these trucks came out. well i think the damage is done to their reputation. i like the idea of parking a bunch of trucks near the dealership there's a bunch of us in the local group come down to coffe night and maybe we can stage a rally there :-{}

I live in Levittown, PA (close to Trenton, NJ) and I've been following this thread for some time now. If Firehunter can't get satisfaction from Holly Dodge I'd drive up to CT on a weekend to get involved with a rally. I'll bet other folks from not too fat off would take the drive also. Keep us posted.

Just FYI,

The exhaust was put on two weeks before the truck was brought in to Holley and after another dealer looked at the truck for the same problem.

Exhaust was Rips Dual exhaust and was put on after the old system ROTTED OFF!
