I have 2004 5. 9 305/555 auto 4 wheel drive 93000 miles.

Truck has been well taken of and runs fine. I have added a HE351,Smarty Jr,4'' back exhaust. I tow about 12-14000lbs 5th wheel.

I am getting ready to do a trip to Fl. and a trip to the west coast and back. I was looking at upgrading the transmission with a valve body and tripple loc converter. Do you think the transmission has too many miles or should I do a replacement Goerend.

The Goerend sounds great but $5000+ is a lot of money to part with. Where do you find is the cut off mileage for a upgrade or a swap.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

100k is a lot of miles to start modding. My vote is a rebuild if it can be afforded and needed for holding power, mileage, etc.

I held off on mods until 100k. Once things started wearing out I rebuilt them and upgraded as well. It all depends on how long you plan on keeping your truck. The mods will not bring resale value... but they can make the truck more desireable for you. So far I have rel=placed everything once. I will go another 9 plus years and do it again. Why? I know the truck and have it setup the way I like it. Also, it is better than stock in many ways.

I rebuilt mine at 105k after killing the directs with a Smarty, rest of the trans was perfect. Even the seals in the other clutch packs looked good. If your gonna drop the trans and put a TC in at least do the clutch packs and the reaction rings on the pump hub.
