I am ready to put a ball hitch in my 03 I need to know which one is easiest to put in, if I recall there was something said about not welding or drilling the frame any help would be appreciated. Names and part numbers will help. thanks

If your talkin' about a gooseneck then a turnoverball can't be beat. T & R trailer has great prices and service (search for T & R trailer on internet).

I installed a Diamond Hitch invertaball in my '03. Really simple install in about an hour and a half. Uses long bolts and plates to clamp around the frame rails and the only odd tool you need is a 4" hole saw for the hole in the bed. I had to modify the exaust hangers slightly so the pipe would clear but I'm very happy.

Check it out at diamondhitchinc.com

I installed the turnoverball about 3 weeks ago. The installation took about 3-4 hours to complete the install. The only tool that would be "special" is the 4" hole saw needed for the bed hole. Kit 1303R is for the 2003 3/4-1ton long-short bed. If interested, I found a kit on ebay for $235 +40/shipping. This was a huge savings from the local dealer or buying direct from B&W. The gentlemen I bought the hitch from is a dealer and the kit was brand new.

Turn over ball :D

I'll second Johndeereg on the B&W Turnover Ball. Great hitch and I've heard good things about the 5th wheel adapter you can get for it.

Same here, I just recieved my B&W turnoverball monday off of ebay and am going to install it this weekend. Just putting a new coat of paint on it now before I install it. The guy on ebay is great, he shipped very fast, and no hassles. I paid $250 + $45 shipping (he's raised his prices a few bucks lately I've noticed).

Thanks for the update. Even at $295 total it is still cheaper than buying direct from B&W at $380 total or $429 from the local dealer :p

Absolutely, I think it was a great deal. He was also willing to add the plastic plug I wanted (another $15, normal cost). That's coming direct from B&W though, I haven't gotten it yet. I don't think I'll be using the hitch super frequently though, and I don't want the ball rusting in the socket.

Have installed three hitches and you just can't go wrong with the B&W turnover ball. Bought these for $317 each, got the job down to two hours.

how does the hitch attach to the frame is it bolted or u bolted, also I think I can get the hitch for $245 according to the book I looked at yesterday:--)

If you go to the B&W website you can download the instructions to the hitch, it has U bolts and a bracket bolted to the outside with a pin in it to keep the hitch from moving front to back.
