Apparently I lost a counter-gear that destroyed the entire transmission so I have to purchase a new one. Quoted $4700 and some change for parts.

I just dumped $3k to have this thing rebuilt in Feb. :-{} #@$%!

I'm being told that this is a separate issue and has nothing to do with what was repaired.

Can someone get me a deal on an nv5600? Or have a suggestion for getting the dealer to ante up some responsibility?

I'm going to go beat my head on the floor... ... .

separate issue?? still sounds like the nv5600 and that be the same issue if ya ask me. tell them they ucked it up when they were in there so its their problem. I mean if they were in there and they didn't do a complete rebuild then they suck. the parts are cheap it's the labor that is expensive and a good portion of the is the r&r. sounds like they one cheeked it. (aka half arsed it) :p

Don't have any experience with anyone inparticular, but I have seen some remanufactured ones on ebay for around $2,000. Don't know if it is a trusted reman shop or not. Good Luck.

I was told that if during the rebuild, they didn't set the preload properly, it will cause this problem. Or it could be totally unrelated.

Standard Transmissions is saying it could be dealer related.

I would be speaking to the GM or SM about that TX. That's a load of bull. I agree with the others here that they didn't do it right the first time.

Alright,

Spoke with the GM and he had someone call me back. They are telling me I need to take this up with the Chrysler Service rep for the area. I agree that it should have been found. I took the advice of the service rep when it went out and based on his own words, they did a full tear down and reassembly. I would assume that this doesn't happen overnight (if at all) and was due to error. I'll see where I get tomorrow.

And the dealer it's at, the one I purchased it from is screaming about storage problems and charging me lot fees:mad:

Theres a vendor named STANDARD Transmissons that I thought use to adverstise on this forum carried all the Dodge trannys and parts.

Hope you get something done but if you don't have good results, try Blumenthals in Oklahoma City. They don't run very much more for a brand new one than the rebuilts cost on Ebay. 888-236-4800 Nice folks.
