I had a Weatherguard 127-5 with my 01. 5 that I really liked, but sold it with the truck. I see Weatherguard now has a 123-5 that is extra deep and has a powerport, but the local dealer wants $750  for it. I have heard great things about Pro-Tech, but to get one in black (which is my perference), they charge $350 more than the already steep $650 price for the box. I can't make up my mind which to buy, somebody convince me!

Thanks!

Pro-tech all the way!! I got my Sugar MAMA to kick in half (still payed $650) but its the single best investment I have made for the truck. The only thing I would change is for a little wider one. I had a GMC when I bought it and the CTD is 3 inches wider.

You want black?? In my opinion the polished aluminium makes for pleasing aesthetics.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I got the extra deep box, I' a big fella and I can crawl in it!

I have had 3 weathergaurds and would buy another one. There local and make the best boxes IMO. However protech makes some nice stuff. 2 quality boxes, i would get the one with the smaller price tag, its a win/win situation.

I have a 5th wheel box from Highway Products and I LOVE IT!! Very good quality and even has a light built in it. I'll bet their over the rail boxes are the same quality. Cost me $650 at the Big R in White City.

The deep Weatherguard is GREAT I paid about 800 for mine almost a year ago in black. I'll never switch back to anyother box. I have it mounted on a Backrack system. I really like the locking system No button sticking out when locked. They still have to make a place for a light to be mounted.

Rawson Koenig, I can't get the spelling right, full lid, and have it Rhino'd or Line-X'd, they last forever. Had someone try to break into mine and it wouldn't give, altho I don't think they had alot of time. I'll buy another one some day.

Love my Weatherguard, absolutely best fit & finish hands down. I've had some heavy stuff inside the box too, that had shifted and did not dent the box. I've had mine on the truck over a year, it's black powdercoat & diamond plate and has been one of the best investments I've purchased. I thik I paid about $650 +/- I can't recall exactly, but I love it.
