I am in need of a new set of battery cables for my 92. I have read where people have them made up for half the price of the dealer's price. Question is, where? In my search I could not find where anyone posted who will make new cables of this size.

Thanks

David Stewart

Auto-electric, alternator, starter, ag, HD, big truck shop. I think the size is 2/0. I guess you'd have to check the phone book, ask or look around locally.

I bought some marine terminals from O'Reilley's, then went to a big rig shop and had them make up some cables with plain eyelets of the same size as the terminals. Cost about $30 for both cables. I ordered the stock 2/0 size (that's 2 ought; or 00)

If you cant find anyone locally to do it, PM me and I'll see what I can come up with.

I went to a local place called "East Coast Battery", and as the name suggests they are battery specialists plus they have a full selection/stock of components to make up the cables... . any size, and configuration. They even had the proper stuff in brass to make up the smaller pos wire that is stuffed into the battery terminal on the stock cables.

And the components are top notch. . better than you can get at the cheapo auto parts stores... and just as economic.

So search your local yellow pages

i looked at replacing one of mine last year... ... battery to the starter ... and the dealer wanted... ... get this... . almost $800. 00 here in Toronto... . i said no... i don't want a new truck... ... just a Battery cable,

he also told me they would have to order 1 in ..... i said i bet you sell a lot of them :-laf

I bought new ones from the dealer, and they weren't no $800 thats for sure. I don't remember what I paid, but they couldn't have been to bad or I wouldn't have bought them. I do get 30% off list though.

I'll second custombatterycables.com. I got some from them just a month or so ago... nice cables at a decent price... took about 2 weeks to get, though.
