I want to build myself a big winch-type bumper for my truck out of plate steel and some tubing. I was wondering if anyone has some pictures or links so I can find some ideas. I really like the one the Earthroamer guy has.

I'm sure it's a lot harder to make those look good on a first generation truck because the front is so flat and the headlight are so high.

here's a picture of one i built, in fact i just gave the thing away to someone around here i forgot who it was ... ... ... Rick

well there was supose to be a picture here, lets try again.

no luck seem i've already atached this image and i cannot be attached again, so try this

That would be me.

It's still a good looking bumber.

I'll post new pics of the rig soon.

That big ol' bumper gets there attention when they pull in short. :--)

Came in handy on the last trip to Texas. I used it to skid cars that were in the way at my pick up point.

Thanks again!!

Go to Ruenel Manufacturing and get some pics there. I have one of their wench bumbers on the front of my fist gen and everyone likes the way it looks.

I especially like the reaction I get from those people that look in their rear view once, then twice, and then quickly get out of the way of my truck. After all Mopar stands for Move Over POWER Approching Rapidy!:D

You might want to look in the Member Rig section and look at the bumper that Dieselgirls Dad made for her . A little birdie told me that he is making them to sell also I have been told .

Hey if you're in Idaho you need something for the deer to bounce off of. I built one that the winch pulls out of so that you can use it on the flatbed to pull yourself backwards. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll post up some pics. I live around Orofino and I've had three deer bounce off the thing with out any damage so far.

No kidding! The deer around here have a death wish! I swear they try and run into trucks.

Just the other day, a deer ran smack into the side of my grandpa's truck. They're nuts.

I have been gathering from all these pictures and a rough image is starting to form in my mind. Keep those suggestions rolling!

link is all fine and worky for me!

I like that website good find, any more out there?

I am also looking into me making of my own bumber. LOL

Lucky you I did all the foot work, took about three nights of looking for this stuff, Lucky I read the post :D

Partial list but enough to get you looking, I am stuck on the trailready look, in a diamond thread for my truck, STEEL of course.

Ram bumpers

Take a look at sledpuller.com in the links.

I build bumpers for 2G Rams - 1500, 2500 and 3500. Mine aren't as expensive as the other aftermarket units, maybe not as fancy either. But hit just one deer, and you'll be wishing you had one...

That link works for me now. Style number two on that is what I am looking into building. I don't like when the bumpers for 1st gens have parts going over the lights... they look funny. I just like the big bars in the middle.
