I have just resently installed a tst chip and i love it. Now i need a new clutch and i want one that will with stand more horsepower and torque then i have for future mods. I was thinking about getting a good dual disk but i want something that feels like a stock clutch, and not extremely hard to push. Any recommendations?

Well I just drove a truck equiped with a South Bend Dual Disk this weekend, and the pedal is only moderately more than stock pressure. That is with a daily driver/occasional puller set clutch that SBC offers. The pressure plate load is 3850 lbs and the disks have 12 ceramic buttons. Engagement was MUCH smoother than my old SBC 13" Con FE I had in a previous truck.

I would recommend that you call Peter @ SouthBendClutch.com and talk with him and he will ask you several questions on your plans for the truck. Then he will set you up with what he feels will best suit your needs.

If you run the 3850 DD you will need to address the hydrolic system in your truck. The 3rd gen slave cylinders hold up good until you put more then stock pressure to them and they will soon blow out.

Take a look at Haisley Machine (www.haisleymachine.com/clutches.htm). The street twin feels just like a stock pedal, and the street drag is a little stiffer and more aggressive. The street drag I have in my truck is holding up just fine to my power, does well when towing, and is doing just fine with 3000 rpm launches at the drag strip. It shifts as good if not better than the stock clutch, too. If you're looking to get into a lot of sled pulling they also have the street puller. I still have the stock hydraulic system and have had no problems with it or with getting the truck into any gear.
