Need comfort on getrag????

Would you share the name and phone number of the rebuild shop you mentioned? Being from Ct and having a Getrag, I may someday need a shop that has treated on of our member well.

Would also be interested to know the total cost and 'extras' that had to be done for the conversion.

5 qts confermed!!!

My granps was at a shop where a guy had a getrag brack down. They said they only got a teaspoon of oil out of it and the case was cracked. they ended up buying a re-man. Eney ways on the re man was a tag that said to fill it to 5 qts. that says it all. By the way when these trucks first came out where ther alot of problems with this like a recall or bulliten???? Just wondering cause this has coused to mutch problems for people. Well thanks guys and this TDR is the best place for info. ,,, Justin

Mike Patton at Standard Trans (800-std-tran) can give you advice on the Getrag and the NV4500. They rebuild a lot of both trannies, and are very helpful.
