trailer ligh question with 2003 truck

Goose neck Hitch

SAM's Clubs don't offer almond dipped ice cream bars as far as I know.

I used to stop for a restroom and softdrink break at a convenience store on the east side of I-5 near Galt when I was running up and down I-5 from Pendleton, OR to LA and back.

Sounds like Flag City just west of Lodi on the Hwy 12/I-5 intersection. Flying J and some fast food nowadays.

That's too bad about Sam's. If you ever get the chance and your triglyceride levels aren't high enough, find a Costco that carries them. The obesity epidemic will thank you! :-laf

Update:

I went and looked at my buddy that had the original issue tire's and they look much more weather worn than mine... They have new date codes by a year than mine (mid 2007 vs. mid 2006)

Here is what I'm doing:

Going to America's tire and getting 4ea of the MB type 72 wheel (16 x 7"), then going to Firestone and getting 4ea Transforce HT LT225/75-16E tires.

Wheels are $396.

Tires are $528 mounted and balanced.

I've been going to America's tire many times and they have to special order that size tire and I have to wait for them and they are more expensive by $150+

Firestone always treats me right but they don't carry wheels...

Any cons to my plan?? Tire choice?

Thanks,

Louis

The idea that you have to order a tire now may really be a pain latter on when you need another tire and you have to wait for them to order them again.

Also I don't know a lot about rims ETC but are you changing size becauce you have a better selection of tires or because you would like some fancier rims?

my 20+5 tandem dual Big Tex gooseneck came with E rated Carlilse's 235/85/R16

I blew 2 of them last trip through Oklahoma EMPTY!!! the trailer probably doesn't have 4,000 miles on it, a total of 3 have already blown, they are JUNK

I doubt those are e rated tires on a Big Tex, every tandem dully big tex I saw came with D tires... But I agree factory tires don't seem to last past delivery...

Louis,. . I agree with the statement that if you have a problem in another town, you will have to order another tire. . The tires I got were readily available.

Other than that it seems you are on the right track

Final Update:

Last weekend we went to Cannon Beach, OR to the Northern Oregon Coast RV Lodging - Cannon Beach RV Resort in Cannon Beach, Oregon. This campground is awesome. Check it out if you get a chance.

Anyway, came home on SUN, parked the trailer and noticed one of the Carlisles looked funny. Inspected it better and saw that it had broke a steel belt (the tread surface balooned out on approx 1/2 of the circumference of the tire). Got super lucky. Changed it out in the driveway and reduced the air pressure to 10psi.

Going to Woodhead Park on the Snake in Idaho tomorrow.

Went with ST225/75-15E Maxxis M8008's.

They look to be much better quality than the Carlisles.

There was no time to wait for 16" rims and tires to show up...

Sounds like I should consider replacing my Will-Pops on my Toyhauler sooner than later. Mine are 16" but are the Chinese ST trash. Thanks guys... ... . I am going to spare myself the heartache and replace my tires!

Regcabguy,

Which Costco? The one in Santee had told me about hand carrying in the rims and tires, but they are across the parking lot from a Discount Tire so either way I should be able to get the hand dipped ice cream bar.

JEEEEES YOU GUYS!!!

I am trying to follow this thread but can't focus 'caus every post mentions ice cream bars. :{

I am starving, got a craving or something, keep checking the freezer but still only a half gallon of cherry/chocolate in there, no hand dipped ice cream bars in sight.

Gonna' hafta' go to another state to score some of those, I guess... :):)

No Costcos in Maine... ...

Sorry, I'm in So California, right now its 100° outside and we had thunderstorms yesterday afternoon.

Did find the two closest Costco Stores are in Danvers, Mass or in Saint John, NB. Canada.

Saint John is closer to the house, but don't want to get busted at US Customs with a cooler full of contraband Ice-Cream Bars, Eh??:-laf:-laf
