I would appreciate any direction on this problem - the connector for the water temperature sensor on my '94 CTD has gone south and it works only once in a while. I have called around most of the local wrecking yards and haven't turned up anything of course. The dealer sez it's available, but only as part of an entire wiring harness. Ouch and double ouch.

Due to a low reading on the gauge (checked gauge and it's fine) when the connector has worked, I am going to replace the water temperature sensor anyway. A buddy has suggested I take the new water temp sensor and go around from wrecking yard to wrecking yard and see if I can't locate a connector plug from a gasser Ram that will fit.

Any other suggestions?

TIA!

Temp Sensor

While removing the head I think I broke off the water temp sensor. It is at the rear of the head on the driver's side? I think that the connector on the end of the wire also came off. Does anyone have a Cummins part # for it. I hope that it isn't too much as I'm going to spend enough money getting my head gasket fixed.

Thanks for the help

Well, if you're going to replace it anyways, solder a set of wires to the new sensor and wirenut the wires together (after you cut off the original plug of course)

That will provide a solid connection, no more guessing.

I`d say check ebay, but all they have is 2000+ harnesses, and they went to a different plug scheme after 98. 5

good luck
