Need dealer to turn on TPMS

I bought my truck slightly used in 2012 in Boise Id and soon after getting it back to Sacramento I noticed the previous owner had kept the factory aluminum wheels (I got a peek at the build sheet for my VIN#) along with the sensors and must have had the dealer turn off the TPMS.

I like the look of the factory alloy wheels. I happened on a great deal on some takes offs and took the wheels to the dealer and had new sensors put on the wheels and my tires mounted and balanced

They told me it would take an unknown amount of driving/time for the sensors to 'sync' and to just drive it. It's been a couple days and at least a 100 miles and it's not working.

The EVIC shows 0 PSI on all four wheels and when I push the low inflation switch it doesn't light up. I think the previous owner had the system turned off or something reprogrammed. I told the service writer at my local dealer (Swift Dodge in Davis Ca) that I thought the system had been turned off and he said that wasn't possible.

I'm hoping some of you guys who know and understand how this system/computer works can give me some words to explain to the dealer on what to do. I know all dealers are different and mean well but might not go the extra mile on a case like mine without a little nudge in the right direction.

All I know is that it shouldn't take 100 miles for it to work.

If you're showing 0 psi, you should have a warning light. If you don't then there's something going on. If you have a warning light, and 0 psi, it might be because they put the wrong sensors in (which I doubt since it was a Dodge dealer), They didn't activate the sensors (Some TPMS sensors need a magnet to activate), or something else....

Depending on how far I get here Bob I might come to Riverside to see you. Although I'm assuming you work at a Dealership. I have a nephew in your county and a sister over near Las Vegas so coming south to see family and getting my TPMS fixed might be in the cards!

Stop in the dealer and ask them to run a "configuration" report. They can save it as a .pdf so bring a jump drive and have them save it to it. If they look at it they should see the if the tire pressure module is online, and if the truck is configured for it. If they can't figure it out, post a copy here and we can look. It is probably 10-20 pages long but you are only looking for one line of data.

Thanks sag, I'll give that a try. I'm hoping to get some cooperation from the dealer. Some don't like to go the extra mile much. I'd be wiling to come to the Bay Area to where you "fix em" if I don't get it taken care of at Swift.
