Looks like I will be permanately relocating to SC for at least a few years and need to retrieve my stuff from storage in Oklahoma. I need to find a cheap 6x12 enclosed trailer to load my stuff up in, along with my quad and haul it back to SC. I don't want to rent a trailer as I need a trailer to store the quad in once here as I will be living in a blasted apartment for awhile and don't want to leave the quad sitting out in the open either. If anyone knows where a cheap/good condition trailer of this size or similar is, let me know. I am heading up to Muncie for the meet and then heading to Oklahoma to get me stuff from there. Oh yeah, I have at most 1500. 00 to spend.

Thanks,

Morph when I was in a similar situation I found that there are plenty of used enclosed trailers around, they just aren't advertised. You find many parked along the road with a for sale sign on them though. Might want to get off the interstate on your trip to Muncie onto some two lane hiways and keep your eyes peeled.

Go price-out a mini-storage and your price range may go up fast. Those suckers are expensive! Figure in the money you can get selling the trailer after you're done and it might change your thinking.

It took me 5 months of searching to finally find and buy a used 6x12 enclosed last month. Illflem is right... they are rarely advertised, and I was always checking the classifieds. I spotted mine sitting off in a field while on a road I took a wrong turn down. What dumb luck!

$1500 might not be enough for a 6x12. I priced out new ones and they are $3200 to $3600 brand new.

The only other thing I can think of is to go to farm equipment and commercial equipment auctions. Rare, but they do occasionally show up there.

I know how much storage units cost, I am currently paying for one right now. The problem I have is, 1500 bucks is all I can come up with due to being out of work for 6 months. I found a 6x10 this weekend new for 1900. 00. I will keep looking, and if I don't find one by the move weekend, I may just have to leave my quad in oklahoma for a while longer (not looking forward to that). I just want a used trailer that won't be used much, other than hauling the bike and tools to the track to ride.
