It's time to put an exhaust system on the
MOOSE. This truck is stock!!! Haven't screwed
it up yet. Need idea's where to go from here.
But i'm a firm Murphy's law student. If it
needs 3",4",5" exhaust it'll get it. If i have
to make some other changes because of exhaust
so be it. Any suggestions??????
Thanx,Mic

I bought my 3" mandrel bent exhaust from Ted Jannetty. Great price, service, and sound with a walker muffler. A while back Joe Donnelly did some dyno testing and reported that anything larger than 3" won't help you until over 350 hp.

Had the stock muffler replaced with a Dynaflow straight through muffler. Quieter than a straight pipe but got a nice rumble/roar on the acceleration. Got better mid range response and turbo spooled up a lot faster. I talked with muffler shop, his experience is anything larger than 3 inches isn't going to get you much more bang for the buck. The total cost 150 dollars with a 4 inch chrome tip. Looks and sounds great.

I used Stans Headers for exhaust system, they do great work and the prices are very reasonable too. My custom 3" mandrel bent complete exhaust for my crew cab (which is 21' long #ad
)cost just under $300 with clamps/extra piece of pipe & 3 day express shipping to Michigan.

Sounds like your truck is in prime condition with only 100,000 miles.
I just wanted to throw in my two cents, however it may be a bit to wild for you. I always wanted a chrome stack on my truck, so my old man and I made it work. I think that we did one hell of a custom job if I may say so myself. I had to buy a 45* elbow, flex pipe, 3" to 4" adaptor, 4" to 5" adaptor, 4' long, 5" wide chrome stack, and clamps of course, all for a mere $200, the actual pipe being the expensive piece. Anyway, the finished product looks great and sounds even better. I love the sound so much that this winter I drove with the pass. side window down and the heat on, just to hear the sound!
