NEED front dif cover to work with my DT trac bar.

The old cover is coming off for new fluid and a scrubbing and I do not wan to utilize the same cover.

I tried to find a Magview cover and don't even know if they are still in business based on my many searches.

I also don't want a cover thats going to cost an arm and a leg. I like the price point of the Mag-hytec but the info I have says it will not work with the DT trac bar.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

Kevin, I have a MagView on my front diff and the DT track bar. I also have Skyjacker D25 coil springs for a 2 1/2" lift. You are correct, a Mag HyTec front cover will not work with the DT track bar, I tried fitting one on my truck right after the SJ lift and DT track bar were installed, and no way!

Now, as to the MagView. When you hit a very sizeable bump, you DO get contact between the DT track bar and the top of the MagView, but in the last 12 months, on my truck at least, it hasn't caused any problems. I have never actually felt the contact from the drivers seat, but I periodically check it out, and I can see a contact rub on the DT bar and MagView cover, so I know they do ocassionally make contact.

If you have the stock front end (no lift), I have no idea if even the MagView will work. Chris Sutton (csutton7) has had a MagView front cover on his 99 truck for many years, but he also has the 4 1/2" Skyjacker lift...

There are a few choices out there. Genuine Gear has a nice polished alm cover for the dana 60 and goes for around 130. 00. Mopar performance parts sells a chrome front cover, that is heaver then the OEM, and has a magent to trap grit, this cover sells for aroun 30. 00, at JEGGs. The front covers are a bit to keep up, but if you are willing to clean and polish it every once in a while, they do look good. And I think draw more attention to the truck then the bigg one in the rear. I installed the Mopar cover 3-4 years ago, and it is still shining. I liked that it was so thick, most replacement chome covers (like transdap's chome cover) are very thin, and easy to poke thru.

Guys, Dumb question, I know. Does the chrome Mopar cover offered a Jeggs cover all 2500 Ram front axles? I thought I read before that Dodge used a coulpe of different front axles on our trucks. Thanks for the help.

Frank

One other question. Did you guys order the chrome bolts offered on the site or use your origionals?
