Hey Gene H!

I was wondering if you might be able to consult that handy-dandy Cummins Shop manual located convinently on your desk for Valve Cover Gasket & O-ring P/N's for Keeno-man.

I'm looking for the latest "improved" Gray colored gaskets for my '92 and wanted to be certain on the Part Number. You were the first & only thought I had... When it comes to P/N's... .

You Da' Man!:D :)

Thanks a truck load!

No Worries!

Hey Gene!

I braved a journey to my local Cummins store @ lunch w/o the P/N's and everything came out splendid.

Cummins P/N: 3930906 Valve Cover Gasket (color: Gray)

$4. 30 X (6) = $25. 80 +- tax

Thanks anyways... Gene! :)

Hi KEENO,

I was out of town for the weekend,

Glad to hear everything turn out ok.

I've tried to reuse the valve cover gaskets after doing the valve clearance adjustments, they always end up leaking.

Hope you had a great weekend Gene!

I was just looking for a little "Big Brother" P/N Hand Holding. :D Instead, I just strolled into the shop, asked for what I wanted and put my money on the counter and said: "Thank Ya', Mister"

I adjusted all of the valves w/ my new 12V Cummins tool kit & the included barring tool as descibed in the TDR magazine a few issues back. You know, the issue w/ your truck on the cover! It all worked out perfectly! :D

I was amazed that everything was in spec and looked real clean under those sexy individual valve covers. What a concept... .

KEENO do you still have the stamped Dodge/Cummins cover on that goes over the top of the valve covers?

Mine would make a buzzing noise while driving that could be heard over the engine noise. I could never cure the problem so I took the cover off. This problem was discovered by Greg Whale when he was writing a series of articles for 4 Wheeler Magazine on a 92 W250 Club Cab. He named the truck Tug Boat. The articles were in the Dec. 92 through June 93 issues. Tug Boat was modified from one end to the other. The series of stories makes good reading for those of us that think the 1st gen trucks are the best gen trucks.

P. S. I wonder if TDR could reprint those 4 Wheeler articles for the members who are new to the 1st gen trucks?

Dan, I still have my old copies also.

I e-mailed Robert asking if it would be possible to reprint Greg's articles on Tug Boat. We'll see.

You mean your truck is quiet enough to hear such a thing...

Hey Gene! :)

Yeah, I still have the stamped Cummins/Dodge (as it should read)... . Oh, I mean, Dodge/Cummins decorative metal cover hiding those sexy individual valve covers.

Mine doesn't rattle... . I have it's resonance perfectly tuned to cancel out w/ my transfer case shift lever Buzzzzzzzz @ highway speeds.

Didn't you get the TSB? LOL! :D

Keeno

PS: I would love to read those old articles! Gene w/ your posting skills you can probably get them on your photo account for all of us to enjoy!
