I'm stomped,I had a post(no 1st gear help)with several good replies. .
Did all that is suggested... and then found a problem that I'm not sure what it is. .
I found some material in the bottom of pan(Black friction looking material,a little thicker than paper and it brakes easy)and I mean alot, some big pieces and some crushed looks like it has pick up area on filter clogged up,, so I don't know what to do. .
Truck only has 38000 miles on it and I drive it about 2 times a month. .
So if any one can suggest a good transmission shop in my area I guess this is my only option!!

Well that part I'm not sure of!!
I have installed that shift kit and now the truck is down because of something else. I will have to prove that the shift kit is not the kulprit. . That I don't know if I can do. .
Looks like the front band is the material I found. .

That shift kit may cost you a free trans repair! Depends on the dealer and service mgr. If you have a good one you might be in luck. I bought my last 3 trucks at a dealer in Easley SC they have changed hands and maybe they have a good service dept now, they really were awful before. Don't know any other shops in upstate.

dieseldual:

That "material" you described in your
pan sounds like the material on the fiber
plates in the clutch pack. That is not
good. I had a little bit in mine too.
Check with Bill K. again, he may be
able to "pinpoint" it better for you
but that is what it sounds like to me.

Thuoght I'd let you guys know!!
Dealer want fix!!
Talked to Bill K and he is going to help me get her back to life!! With the help of a good mechanic friend of mine. .
Found that the material is my front band, it came apart. . Now the hole thing has to be gone thru to get it back right. .
Looks like a good time to go ahead and do it right... Going to put all the trimmings in that I can afford. .

And by the way that dealer in EASLEY is a piece of crap,, they have screwed up more than they have been able to fix!~!
