I put a new rebuilt auto transmission in a 1998 Dodge 2500 last night and when I backed out of the shop for the first time the transmission temp light came on and overdrive lock out light was on also. I know the transmission couldn't have been warm enough to set the light off since the truck only ran in the shop for 3 or 4 minutes before I took it outside. Is it possible that the rebuilt came with a faulty switch? I know the overdrive lockout light only came on because the PCM tells it to if the transmission temp light is set. Also I'm wondering which switch on the transmission is the temp switch because my shop manual doesn't specify which it is. I'm not 100% sure it's important but the truck has a 360 gas engine and it has the 46 RE transmission. I would appreciate any help on this from you transmission gurus!
