Ya, I agree! At least the price is right. I'll have to lick my wounds and go on! Just got a reply from another web site and this man just sold his toter for $10k with a 3116Cat that had 446k on it! He's a diesel mech. and he said that the 3100 series engs aren't all that bad! Their just very touchy. . Basically he said keeping up on all the PM work and adjustments are very critical! If you don't, the end result is what happened to us!

I think we are all thinking on the same track! As I just replied to RShipp, a reply came in on this site with a man that got 450k on his Cat! I Wonder if he's the same man? Well I'm gonna go take a look at the rig Wed. Yes it is/was a motor home diesel pusher. I think a Monaco? As far as the dyno part, that's a good question. When I go to look at it, I,ll ask to see the report. Maybe they put the eng on a eng dyno?



Again as always you people have been nothing short of FANTASTIC! I hope Mr. Patton reads these! I know he's gotta be proud of his members!

Hi Again Everyone,



Been out of town. Well, Got a price back from Cummins. $14k for a reman 8. 3/300! Ouch! By the time one adds all the other items in, I'll bet your looking at $20kish? Now that's right from Cummins, so I'm sure their's cheaper places out there, but will they have the same warranty?



Anyway, Cat left me a message saying they have a hot ticket for me! I'll let ya know.

Well, Got a bunch of info. First, putting a 8. 3 in place of the Cat is going to be VERY expensive! $14k just for the eng! Then to find a shop that will do it is even Harder! So the local Cat dealer found me a 3126 with 32k on it for $7k with a warranty. So, I'm waiting on the dyno report and will let you all know the out come.
