Got the 3GSK kit, AFC spring kit (3 clicks less than full rich with soft spring) and a #10 plate (1/8" back from full forward) installed. Truck runs stronger but I have new symptoms.
1) Idle RPM is now 200
2) EGT will peg the gage 3/4 to full throttle
Other then those two things the only other item is my clutch does not like it (I kind of figured that). When cruising at 55 and I goose it in fifth I can hear the clutch give a little squeal and under hard excell the engine sound is solid but the truck feels like is pulsating (I think the clutch is slipping).
My Internet provider sucks so I can’t search for more than a couple of minutes before getting booted off line. I go booted off twice trying to right this GGGrrrrrrr
So I have a couple of questions.
1) how do I adjust the idle? should I re-adjust the GSK springs or up the idle on the back of the pump (where ever that is)?
2) what is the best position for the plate to keep the most power and to keep the EGT's down?
I also have installed the boost elbow. Boost now is 32PSI, high RPM noted in second is 3600 rpm. I did not hold the power on to see what the high rpm would be in 3rd due too high EGT's. truck will roast the tires through second and 3/4 of the way through 3rd (in 3rd the engine held 3000 rpm and burnt rubber till the truck caught up to that rpm). 4th and fifth pull hard although not as hard as 2nd and 3rd, where when I had the stock plate full forward it would pull just as hard in in all gears.
Any comments to help with fine-tuning will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tom C
