Need Help from GearVendor's Owners

I have a GearVendors unit on my '01 2500 4x4. I have about 20,000 miles on the unit.



The problem: The 4x4 transfer case started leaking from the top. See red arrow. My dealer says that they had seen this problem from some other GearVendor equipped 4x4s. GearVendors says they sell about 15-20 units a month to Dodge 4x4 owners and have not had any reports of the problem I have described. They did say they saw some broken transfer cases around the mount to the transmission.



Has anyone had, seen or heard of this problem?



The GV unit hangs a long way off the back of the transfer case. I was concerned about that when I installed.

I have a HD xfer case and do not have any leakage. Can't help you out.



Have you checked thhe case for a flat mating surface ?? no dings, cracks, low spots, mushrooming around the bolt hole or stud ????

I'm going to take it apart and have a look. That's what GV suggested when I talked to them.

I've got about 32K on mine and haven't seen a leak yet. Sorry to hear you're having a problem.
