Need help from suspension experts (SAG)

Hey all, I really need some advice on my front suspension. I'm trying to accomplish 2 tasks. Primarily I need to cure the front end sag when using my plow (950lb Blizzard 810). The other task is to level this thing when the plow is not on. My spring tags are 985AA on drivers side and 984AA on passenger side. Are these the heaviest springs available?? I could not order the plow prep package w/ my Sport package (DC would not allow it). I don't mind putting the labor in to fix this correctly, but I only want to do this one time so I don't waste money. I've considered Timbrens but that will not cure the leveling prob, and if I level it the Timbrens will become useless. I also don't want to use such a stiff spring that it will bounce w/out a load on the front. Thanks in advance for all who read this and give there advice. Figure I'd add some to this so maybe it will get a fresh look from some. My freind w/ an '05 and the plow package has spring #986 on the left and 985 on the right. He carries a 700lb 8ft Fisher w/ no front end drop. Does anyone know what the spring rate differences are between a 986, 985, and 984 are?? Do they offer a 987? I wouldn't mind going to aftermarket and picking up a 2-4" lift either. I know that these springs are starting to give up on me already w/ all this extra weight. Any ideas?? Thanks Scott

I've looked at the Kore kits, and not yet the Lorenz stuff. It seems Kore has a superior product from the posts I've seen on this website. My only concern w/ using one of there systems is the fact that it's designed to hold the weight of a fairly stock CTD truck. What will the extra 1000lbs hanging off the front do to those springs? Too costly too kill those in a season or two. Does anyone have spring rates on any of the Kore coils. I've checked there website several times and they only mention the lift factor. I am going to check out the Lorenz website and see if any of there rates are mentioned. Thanks for the input.

I had the same problem with my 2006. I have the snowplow prep. My new snowway plow weighs 820lbs. It pulled the front down so bad the a-frame on the plow was only about 2. 5" above the ground with the plow in the up position. I put Lorenz's springs on to solve this. They worked perfect, I would strongly recomend doing this.

That is exactly what I did not want to happen. I've seen my front springs slowly decline over just a couple of months with the plow on. Now the truck sits approx. 1/2 to 1" lower even without the plow on it. I like the Kore kit because it has the shocks and bump stop drop plates with it. I need to contact them and find out what these springs are rated for and how much the kit is. Thanks for all the input from all, I always trust you guys to STEER me in the right direction!! :-laf Sorry, I guess I got my dads sense of humor.

I guess I got lucky with my 04' and 05'. Both trucks sit at factory height. No signs of sagging yet, but the shocks are gone on my 05'. I wonder how much my western pro plus plows weigh?

You could always go Kelderman and eliminate all your sagging and leveling problems for about $1199. 00

Hey I have the same truck, what mods did you have to make to mount a plow? Do you have to change anything? Does the sport grill not allow it?

Hey ACF, I've been running the KORE leveling kit for about 8 months now without a problem. Had to notch the lower valence for the Blizzard plow frame but other than that no probs at all.

How do you like the Blizzard? Does the 810 have the retractable extensions? Also why do people leave the lights mounted on the truck all winter?

KORE Chase system made my truck way better all the time, and raised the front just the right amount to compensate for the Reunel/Warn 16. 5 ti winch combination.

If you are looking for something to support the extra wait of the snowplow I would say Lorenz is your best bet. The spring rate that is used on the 3rd gens is so light that the front will drop down about 1 1/8 plus with an 800 lbs plow on the front.

Ok I have two questions... ..... when you notch the spoiler how much do you have to cut out? I assume on the non-sport versions one just removes the lower plastic piece from the chrome bumper? I have seen the entire lower portion cut out (as in the KORE trucks show on the website) it looks very nicely done. Secondly... ... why do these trucks sag so much with plow springs? My first 04 had them and rode like crap so in the 05 (buy back) I did not get them and the ride is much better. Are 2500 plow springs just regular 3500 springs? Or are 3500's without the plow package (if you can get one that way) equipped with 2500 non-plow springs? See what I am getting at? How many frt spring rates does dodge have?
