Hello -

I recent bought my first Dodge CTD, which was wrecked (not badly), but not able to be driven. I has it delivered to the body shop and it now looks like new again. I picked it up tonight.

Anyway, none of the interior gauges work and neither do the radio or heater fan... NOTHING! All dash lights and interior lights work fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what this might be? I figured it must be a wire at the battery, but I didn't see anything unhooked. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks, Chris

Stupid question, did you check all the fuses in the cab and Power Distibution Center (PDC) under the hood and the relays yet?

Did they have to do anything under the dash when it was fixed?

Any ground straps not hooked up under dash or any where else that you know of?

Yes, I have checked both... with a meter. Everything looks good, except I am not getting power in my interior fuse box. Any ideas??

After more careful checking, I found that I am getting power to the interior fuse box. All fuses are good. The only "warning" lights that work are wait to start and water in fuel. Others, such as parking brake light, low washer fluid, etc. do not work.

Is there anything here that I am missing? I also checked the body ground and it was fine. This is really starting to concern/confuse me. As always, any ideas would be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

Service manual shows 2 or 3 connectors that feed the instrument cluster under the dash. From the drawing, they look to be towards the center of the dash.

Haven't had the new manual for very long, so I'm still getting some of it figured out.

Might want to pick one up, would be helpful. Got mine from www.techauthority.com

There are two ground wires coming out of the main negative battery cable on the driver's side. One bolts to the inside of the driver's side fender (the shorter of the two). Where does the other one go? Mine is just hanging loose...

If this is not abnormal, where does the interior cab wiring harness get its ground?

I think it is definitely time to pick up a service manual.

Thanks Again, Chris

a buddy of mine was telling me about a yellow fuse/plug that was used while our trucks were in transit so that if a door was left open or something it wouldn't drain the batteries. can't remember exactly where it's located, but he drove around for weeks replacing fuses and checking grounds before one of our other friends reached in and plugged that thing back in! LOL!

Anyone have a wiring diagram that they could send me? I roder a service manual today, but it won't be here until sometime next week. I am getting so confused as to what exactly is going on. I have my entire dash in pieces. It seems that the radio has officially died, as it has both power and ground. Neither the heater control switch (in the dash) or the heater blower motor are getting power. I am just about at a loss...

Time to put your head on the brake pedal, and your feet on the head rest and start checking ALL the connections under the dash, particularly around the Emergency brake area where the wire harness comes in.
