Preparation for Alaska summer trip

I bought my truck with 191,000 miles, a month and half later, I have 198,000. Purchased to start hauling for a living. Truck was stock when I bought it. Made a few mods as you can see below. Clutch is slipping, (go figure). I haul 10-15K much of the time. Please help me pick a clutch that will stand up to the task of hauling with the extra HP I have added, without breaking the bank.

Thanks

Bill

Bill... ... ... ... there is only one answer to that. Call Peter at SBC and just listen. He'll tell you what you need, and you can rest in peace.

I agree, check out SBC. I have the CON/OFE and it has no problem with the extra H. P. nor does it have the grabby feel of some high perf clutches.

You might also talk with Gary at Perfection Clutch. Regarding a ZOOM ZVT clutch. I've driven a couple of them and loved them.

I had an SBC FE in my last truck. The clutch would hold the load, but wasn't any fun to daily drive. Not bashing SBC, I'm a big fan. For the best value in a towing clutch that's easy to drive, I'd look hard at the ZVT. 1-800-258-8312 x1403

can't go wrong either way.

No affiliations with either just a happy customer.

I went with the FE from SBC , wish I had went with carolina or some one else, This FE is the grabber, rough , mean I hate it , cant back up without shaking the truck apart.

I have a SB in my 98. 5 I use for heavy towing all the time. No compliants on the clutch . I told them I didnt want anthing that shook the truck and the one they set me up with deos not shake the truck at all . I do however have a hard time getting past the price of this clutch being about 200 bux more than the one I put in my 96 int 9400 with a 470 det. It is however a very good clutch and if money is not a problem I would go with the SB.
