I am a new member. I enjoy reading lots of good info to be looked at.

From what I have been reading sounds like my VP44 is gone. It has been acting up for a while now but is getting worse. . It has the intermitt dead pedal. I found if you compleatly let off the pedal for 5 to 10 seconds throttle returns usually when you reaccelrate. . Because of my reading I decided to check my fuel pressure. . This is where it gets strange. . When I first hooked the guage up and cranked it up , it decided to act squirley. Had 12 psi at idel, and billowed white smoke only when reved up (would not rev above 2000 rpm) finally acted right. . I had 12. 5 psi at idel and 5. 5 psi at wot parked, so I took it for a spin, cruiseing along anywhere between 70 & 85 mph has 7 psi let off the pedal and immidate return to 12. 5 psi. . I finally got it to act up again while driveing only 9 psi and wont go no higher, untill it lines its self out.

Please help very confused

Almost forgot 2001 quad-cab 2500 4x4 24 valve ctd, no engine mods, replacement front and rear cow killers(bumpers),headake rack, rino lined, rancho shocks, over size mud tires, pioneer CD player, nerf bars, and driving lights... .

Any codes? Turn your key on-off-on-off then on and look at the odometer window. If your VP is going bad, any codes would help to confirm it.

VP44 is toast. Contact Industrial Injection and they will hook you up with a new one, unless you are still in the 5yr/100K mile warranty period. If so, DC will put one on for free.

a blunt but correct answer. You're VP44 has given up. I just put a HRVP44 in after 63k on my original. This failure rate is depressing...
