Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need help reading codes

Just getting into this. Alot of guys reference code #'s in the posts. How are these read??? Do I need to get a "magic box" or how can I check to see if My truck is reading any fault codes? Thanx for your help!!! Jim

Well if your rig is 98. 5 or up cycle the key on and off three times consecutivly leaving the key in the on position on the third.



(The above proceedure must be done WITHOUT starting the engine) In the digital odometer display you will see all the codes followed by "P done" .



I have a list on the NETDP site of EVERY code.
