i want to add the above to my 2010 diesel mega. do i connect directly to one battery? what is the best place to connect? is the drivers side battery better than the pass side? any thoughts?? dont want to create computer issues....
 
I would use the passengers side battery as it IS farther away from the TIPM and ECM. The newer trucks are VERY susceptible to voltage and current spikes.
 
I went to AutoZone and bought a really nice 2 gauge 25 foot long set of cables for about 50 bucks. Bought a 3 Anderson power pole connectors(SB175) and a pull handle on eBay for around 20 bucks. Cut the cables about a foot back from one end and added the connectors to both sides. Plug them together and it's a normal set of cables. The third connector is attached directly to the passenger side battery via 2 gauge cables. Still haven't figured out a way to permanently mount the plug to the bumper. Exploring options still.

I went little bit further....

Fabricated new front tow eyelets and installed the Anderson power points to front and back...

New eyelets comes a bit further out from the bumper to allow the quick mount to work

then the winch mount with 2.5" ball-mount tube so it would work on back as well....

The winch tube was supposed to take standard 2" ball mount but the aluminum ball mount was only one that I was able to fit in. The idea behind this was to be able to keep car trailer steady while using the winch to pull the car to trailer. If I would really be doing that every day I would change the steel cable back as the Dyneema composite rope is a bit more sensitive for scuffing....

I installed Warn winch solenoid so the power points are not hot all the time. Due the lack of space on curb side wenderwell and turbo, I installed the cables on drivers side and haven't had any issues with TIPM and ECM.


Tested the front cross-tube with my 2.5" ball mount and maneuvered the trailer back to its spot on the side of the house. Got mixed feeling is it any better compared to reversing with mirrors but it seems both ways have their own benefits...

Where do I send my check and when is the first available appointment to get it installed that is exactly what I would like to do to my old 03 that is now a service truck on the farm. You wouldn't have a parts list would you kleinbus.
 
I have a similar setup to klienbus. I have a front receiver, Warn XD9000 in a basket, and power ran to the front bumper. I also bought extra Warn quick-disconnects and cut my jumper cables about 18" from one end.

For the power I come off the passenger side battery to a HD CD solenoid, with a switch in the cab.

I have yet to run power to the rear, mainly for the cost. If I need the winch in the rear I can pull one battery and hook it up to the winch with the jumper cable half.
