The driver seat on my 94' is electric and it won't move forward anymore. Dodge wants $650 for the an entire new track system. Can't buy any parts.

Junkyards are empty because everyone goes to the junkyards.

I also looked into a manual track system. Dodge wants $300 and none at the junkyards.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYONE THAT HAS A FIX-IT KIT OR WILL REPAIR THE ELECTRIC SEAT TRACKS???

Sincerely

Tim

Is it broken in that the seat won't move electrically or mechanically? I had a short in the harness that stopped the seat from moving, check the circuit breaker for the seat and see if it's hot to the touch. My seat bottom comes off with 4 bolts on each corner so that looking at the layout is easy then. Dan

Take the side off the seat and check all the wiring underneath for shorts. My 98 shorted a wire against a metal part, not letting it go backwards. Imagine having the seat forward to let someone out and not getting it to move back. . Pretty hilarious, because it was my dad and not me.

Red Rocket.....

Where was that short that you experienced. I would like to do a bit of preventive maintenance on my 99. If I knew where to look it would help me out. Thanks in advance.

Broken electric seat - mechanical problem

The mechanisim in the track that moves the seat is what is broken. The motor works fine. I would assume that the gear is stripped where the motor shaft fits into the track. It is all contained inside the track and Dodge doesn't sell anything except the entire assembly.

I was hoping that someone else has had this problem and could tell me about someone that has found some parts to fix it. I have been told that this is a fairly normal failure.

This looks like a good "business opportunity" if someone could find some replacement parts and sell kits.

I guess most people just buy a new truck!

Sincerely,

Tim

the seat in wy wifes 94 broke. it would move so far and then it would bind up. there was a pipe piece or something broke. she put a piece of allthread through it and tightened it down. worked for quite a while and i think it let loose too. need to take time to look at it again. good luck.
