After installing a SBC DD clutch in my 01 2500 ( within a month) the clutch slave Cyl assm gave up the ghost. the truck only has 35 k on it, now my question is what are you guys doing to keep from going thru, slave cyl's? i was told the "sure" fix was to install a 97 slave cyl. assm, (said to be heavyer) well guess what, after spending 256$ it don't fit. the mt'ing for the clutch master cyl. is different, ( i looked at my 97 and yup there different) the 01 mt pushes the master cyl app. 2" fwd so the pedal wont attach. . I would be gratefull for any help or suggestions. thanks much, Scott@RDP

I went to a local auto parts store and just asked them for a replacement slave. They said not a problem and had it the same day. I don't know if those double disk clutches need more pressure to be disengaged or not, maybe the stock slave cylinder was not up to the task. I have a SB Con OFE and that replacement slave is still working fine. Hope this helps.
