Deep subject.

Did I miss something where did my Post count go?

Ok, I'm not very good with these new fangled typing machines but I'm having problems with my email at home. :mad: My computer at home will recieve email but will not let me send emails. :confused: When I try to send an email it gives me an error message but doesn't tell me what to do to fix it. :{

Can some of you computer gods help me out on this one. :D

PLEASE

Darrell

MSN OutLook express I think. I'm not home right now but i'm pretty sure that's it.

If I was any calmer I think they'd dial 911. ;)

In Outlook Express:

Go to Tools at the top then accounts. Then make sure you're at the mail tab at the top and press properties. Now press servers and it should show your sending and recieving mail servers. The recieving server should start with pop and the sending server should start with smtp. The rest should be the same.

Example for me:

recieving server: pop. west. cox.net

sending server : smtp. west. cox.net

(disclaimer: some e-mail servers don't use pop. They might use imap or http)

As soon as I get home

As soon as I get home in the morning I'm going to try those things and see what happens. If I get no results I'll post back the error message and see what else you guys think.

Thanks loads, sure beats talking to an other computer when I dial the help #.

This is what I get

The message could not be sent becuase one of the recipients was rejected by the server. Server Error; 550, Error number: 0x800CCC79.

My incoming mail is POP3 mail. epowerc.net

My Outgoing mail is SMTP mail. epowerc.net

Any more thoughts on this one or should I call the help #

Thanks

Darrell

sounds like one of the e-mail addresses you are sending to is not valid... that or it is a weird address that your e-mail server likes. . the addresses with multiple ". " in them cause some microsoft server's fits (it's easily fixable by the server admin, but they gotta do it)...

here's what I mean by a weird address
