2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Need Help with EVS II on 99 2500

I left some electrical stuff on and I killed the batteries dead..... When I hooked the charger up the alarm when off when I open the door. The remotes didn't shut it off as they seemed to no longer be programed. I finally got the alarm off by turning the ignition on.



Well I thought no big deal to reprogram the remotes, open the owners manual up and programed both remotes. They now will lock and unlock the doors now. I only problem is that the alarm will no longer turn on. It appears that it need to be reactivated. Of course the manual says that the dealer can do this but I cannot believe that I cannot handle this. By the way the panic function on the remotes do work, just the alarm will not turn on. It will not activate.



Does anyone know how to program the alarm so that when I lock the doors the alarm will activate? Maybe someone has the installation/programing manual that I may borrow.

Well I fixed it. I had to disconnect the batteries and start the process over again. The dealer want to charge $100 just to look at it and they didn't have any information on a unit this old. Well upon connecting the batteries up and opening the door, the alarm sounded again. I turned the key on and hit the disarm button and alarm went off. Next I reprogramed the remotes and everything is back to normal. I still don't know why it would not arm the first time but I am happy it is working correctly now.
