Hitch Questions?

Maybe 3.7 rears?

I am in the process of getting a 85 Dodge Crew Cab 4X2 Shipped from CA to Michigan. Can anyone recommend a shipper ?(my old one was totaled two weeks ago by a woman who can't read stop signs  ) Also is there a safe way to pay the owner on the new truck without getting ripped off .

Thanks

shippers

There are lots of shippers out there. DAS is supposed to be excellent. You can get free online quotes wilth lots of shippers. Your best bet might be another TDR member who just happens to be running that route.

I like those older crew cabs too. I had a 77 CC shortbox 250, 4. 10 LS, and it hauled *** with a 400 and an auto. It ate gas, but it sounded mean with headers.

I would consider using an escrow service if you buying the truck sight unseen. There are a number of them out there, I sometimes have had to use them for high dollar photographic equipment, to protect us (buyers) from the same fear of being screwed. My neighbor has a 15 tow trucks (owns his own tow company) and I know he knows and deals with a number of national carriers. Where in CA is the truck? I will ask him about national carriers tonight and let you know. You might also be able to get a fellow TDR member to take a look at the truck for you- and get detailed pics.

Sorry to hear about your totaled rig.

The truck is in Camino, CA It would be great if someone could check it out. I am interested in any leads & Phone numbers for a transport company.

Kyle,

I live about 10 miles from Camino. I would be glad to look at the truck for you or assist in some other way.

I am expieranced with restores, custom cars, etc. I have been a journeyman mechanic and machinist/welder. Currently I am a teacher with the California Department of Corrections.

Kyle,

Sorry to hear about your truck. I emailed your post to my brother in law who has had a few vehicles shipped from CA to MN at a reasonable cost. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

Hmmm,

Where is Camino with regards to San Jose?

I found an old Nomad in San Jose that I would love to get but can't afford to do it alone.

Now if I could find a trailer that could carry your rig and the Nomad and be compatible with my 3/4ton, I might be interested in making the VT to CA to MI to VT trip. If I can source/buy such trailer in CA it would make the trip easier. ANYONE have such a trailer within a reasonable striking distance of this path??

I'd need you to cover enough of the trip cost to make it worth while.

I have the time on my hands (unfortunatly).

Send me a private message with Phone and we can brainstorm on it... .

New Crew Cab is on a transport heading east, should be here in Michigan next Monday. Thanks for the help guys, just proves how great a value TDR really is. :D :D :D :D I would really been out on a limb without the help of other TDR members.
