Muffler for 10HP Tecumseh

Hey guys, I am working on a 2003 Kawasaki STX DI Jet Ski, for a little extra cash.

I am trying to locate a reman motor or even a new motor. Do any of yall have advice as to where I should look? The local Kawasaki dealer seems to have their head up their... So I am kind of stuck at the moment.

TIA, CJ

CJ,

Try SBT or PMC for a reman. A local boat rental place tried the SBT's one season in his Sea Doo's and I don't think he had very good luck with them. He's out of business now. The Kaw engines seem to be a little tougher and less finicky than the Sea Doo engines so you may do well with them. I don't know much about PMC.

What's wrong with yours? A rebuild on a Kaw is not too bad.

You are correct about the Kawasaki being easy to work on... But not when its had salt water in it for 3+ months

Kind of sucks cause I had already ordered all the parts to complete the job before I tore into the motor and found WAYYYY more damage than I had ever imagined I would see.

The owner claims that it had water in it for 1-2 weeks BULL

SBT builds a ton of engines. They come with a no fault 1 year replacement. A lot of people talk bad about SBT but they are there to answer questions on www.pwctoday.com almost 24/7. I've had nothing but pleasant dealings with them, and I have 4 skis of my own.

Your heading stated that you were trying to "locate" this engine.

I thought it might be lost.

I guess my humor was lost.
