It's time to replace the caulk around the tub in the bathroom and the stuff that the previous owner put in is kind of hard and difficult to remove.

Any suggestions?

Same thing I was thinking. When I redid the caulk around my tub I used a razor knife then steel wool to get the residual. I had a cast iron tub that it didn't hurt though. Jake

Hack and scrape what ya can with a 5in1 or equiv. Then grab a scrubbie sponge and some soft scrub with bleach and scrub the old cruddy residue off. dry it out (it's O. K Leave a lil suds behind in the crease as the soft scrub will further inhibit mold growth)

Caulk Removal

One of the flooring guys we use has a neat trick. He uses a can of compressed air upside down. When he sprays it on the caulk it freezes and it chips off very easy with a putty knife.
