Comments on the RACOR LFS-802 / Oil Guard EPS-60 bypass filter?

This is my first diesel and I do not know much about it. I am looking to gain some HP, but I dont want to spend 12k. My buddy put twins and changed the fuel system and spent around 12k. I can not afford that. So is there other things I can do (other than a chip) to get some extra horse power?

2005 Quad Cab 4x4. Manual trans. 4:10 gears. 35" tires. Looking to gain as much horsepower as possible without doing major modification to drivetrain.

There are many different versions of our Cummins. We need more info from you , so we can help. Please fill out your profile. What info can you give us about your truck and where you are.

Find a local chapter of a TDR group to join too.

BTW, we don't use ' chips', we add boxes or plates. There are no computers that we use were a chip is replaced like the old chevy's did.

Also, tell us what power level you want to go to. transmission or clutch mods may ( most likely) be needed too.

Tell us how you use your truck, HP goals etc. The first thing you will need is gauges, some of the new fueling modules incorporate these into the unit so that may aide in choice selection. From that point forward the sky is the limit but you can get 500-550 HP easy without spending 12K.

Well I use my truck mostly on the highway. At most I haul a small trailer with my street bike on it or my boat. I am sometimes in the mud on the hunting club and I take trips to the mountains, so I guess driving up and down and around the mountains. I would like my truck to be a little quicker on the street most of all. I dont really know what my HP goals are. Whatever I can get without major modification to the drivetrain and not spending a ton of money. I do appreciate the help.

Well you could install and Edge juice with an attitude monitor, this would provide gauges and about a 100 HP gain. Then if more power is desired you could add a programmer (something along the lines of a Bully Dog crazy larry). But at that HP level you really should upgrade the turbo to something along the lines of a PS62 or HTB2 also you will need an upgraded clutch to handle the increased power.....
