2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission need help

My freind has a 98. 5 and the problem he is having is his abs and airbag light comes on, the gages,tach and speedometer stop and the head lights go out?

Has anyone had this problem or may know the cause,thanks

Bad ground, maybe on the batteries? Also, maybe bad ignition switch with a loose wire or something like that.
