I went to try to start the truck after leaving it idle for about a week. Engine will not turn over. Initially I thought it was the batteries, since the guage read less than 14. I put a charger on (these are relatively new optima batteries) but no go. I'm at a loss.

Before I call a tow truck, what else should I try?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, the batteries show fully charged, and I even tried the "engine charger boost" but still no go. I have headlights, guages and radio work. no go

Can you hear anything click under the hood when you try the starter? If no click, it could be the nweutral switch. I believe there is a starter relay in the PDC under the hood, could also be the starter solenoid . bg

No clicking,nothing at all. I did check the battery terminals, they're clean. When I called the local Dodge dealer, they said it might be a computer code.

After all, I had it towed to the dealer, and I'll have to wait until Monday now to find out what it was. I'll post it. :eek:

now I know...

Well I got the rig back from the dealer and several of your responses were close...

It was the starter. And the wiring.

Turns out the starter fried and the wiring loom attached to it as well. Set me back $1,060. #@$%!

The dealer said the wiring loom was a replacement item on any starter repair, since they had problems with them before. I haven't seen this on TDR.

Anyway, its fixed, but by wallet's a lot lighter. If I could have troubleshoot the starter I might have saved a few bucks replacing it myself. Oh well. :{
