Need help!

A buddy's truck is showing two codes on his 2003 Ram. P2509 and P0837. The truck is semi-difficult to start meaning it will start and stall and will surge at idle. If he rides the throttle at idle, it will settle down. Otherwise the truck seems to run fine. My first inkling was lift pump or FCA. I apologize as I do not have time to research the codes right now so I am throwing myself on your mercies.

Unplug the FCA from the back of the CP3 and see if the surging quits.
