Just changed fuel filter. 14,982 miles. Replaced with Fleetguard filter. Bumped starter to activate lift pump and waited til it stopped. Then started truck, it idled for 10-15 seconds and stalled. tried again and same thing then the third time it turned over and over with nothing. Finally started after three tries but check engine light is on. Dealer is right down street, the only mech there was the oiler. He said to disconnect neg side of batteries. Should reset computer... ... ... . waited ten minutes and reconnected. Light is still on..... What to do now all knowing ones?

Just went to dealer and they plugged it into computer. Said: Transfer pump out ot range... ... he cleared it and it hasn't came back yet. What now?

When you changed your Fuel filter, did you completely drain all of the fuel out of the canister? If... make sure you either prime that sucker till it is full of fuel, or dump some diesel fuel in it to till it up.

It sounds like you ran all of the fuel out of the lines. Which means you need to loosen them bolts on the side of your valve cover and get some fuel in them (try cranking the truck. . but don't stay on the starter too long). This is what you have to do when you add new injectors, in order to get some fuel in them.

Hope this helps

Check The Pump Then

Maybe you need to get some readings on your lift pump??? They die with some frequency you know.
