I have a 1995 with a tst 250 plate, dunright converter, and transgo shift kit. The problem is I bought a New 2001 auto and it feels like is has more snap, get up and go. BUT when I put my 5er behind it at 70mph it dosent have any power at all compared to my 95. It wont hold 70 without down shifting out of overdrive. It also dont lock up under full throttle until 75mph. Is this normal? I thought my 95 locked up around 60 even bofore the mods. I planed on doing some mods but now I know I have to. And ASAP

Welcome aboard. I can't comment on your particular dilemma. However, I would like to suggest, if you are going to BOMB, to install DTT products in your transmission. This will help you with towing.

Holding 70 with your 5er.

questions:

how much does it weigh (the 5er)

is this up a steep incline

is your 5er a full height (wind resistance)

answer these questions and it may help other members to direct you towards an answer or 2.

You have to take into account that you're 95 could only go about 55 to 60 in drive, so it had to shift that soon. The 2001 revs a lot higher and doesn't have to lock up until a higher speed. As for power you'll have to add a few mods to get to where the 95 was. Then you'll like it.

Another case of a 24V towing with 3. 56 Gears. 4:10's and auto's tow alot better for the 24V's. SNOKING

How many miles are on the rig now? Try letting her break in some and have your fuel pressure checked. If your fuel pressure starts to drop off, you will be a dog above 50mph.
