Need hints on financial protection on a trailer delivery.

I'm in the process of working with a internet contact to deliver a trailer from Arizona to Maryland, about 2300 miles one way. Any suggestions on how the other party and I can protect ourselves so as to not get ripped off. I know I'm trustworthy, just don't know about the other guy.

Well, Ronnie, the other guy probably knows he's trustworthy, too! Seriously, the two of you need a third party, such as an escrow account at a bank, to hold the $$$. Going to Maryland, right? Maybe Rickson's Truck would agree to hold the guys money for you, for a small fee, you can phone them and verify they have the cash in hand. They might waive the fee if you buy some goodies. They might even do it for free. They're the only ones I can think of in Maryland, there might be other businesses there, but Rickson's is so prominent, it makes sense to trust them. I'd also talk to your bank before I did anything, see if they can help out. If they can't, try another bank, until you get some answers.
